“Take Imperfect Action” – Jadah Sellner

One of my favourite talks of the World Domination Summit 2014 was by a woman named Jadah Sellner, the co-founder of Simple Green Smoothies (www.simplegreensmoothies.com). At one point, her and her husband were living pay cheque to pay cheque and both had multiple jobs to provide for their family. Jadah had the entrepreneurial drive but a few businesses failed to take off. When she gained weight due to stress, she began drinking kale and spinach smoothies each day. She felt better. She felt healthier. And she wanted to help others benefit from her recipes. Fast forward less than 2 years later, Simple Green Smoothies is empowering hundreds of thousands of people to put their health first. It takes determination and perseverance to make your dreams happen. Jadah’s wise words were delivered in 3 ideas:

Say your dreams out loud: Don’t be afraid to dream! And by saying those dreams out loud, perhaps the dreamer and doer inside us are awakened.

Take imperfect action: This one struck a chord with me. Sometime you just have to try things to realize what won’t work. But as the cliche goes, you never know unless you try. It’s important to see that you don’t need to know everything before you take action! Do something. See what happens. It’s one step in the right direction.

Let Go: let go of those things that are holding you back. Learn from mistakes and failures, and move forward. Physical ‘baggage’ that may be holding you back… get rid of them. Just let go and see where life falls.

Also, one of her rules: Take consistent, ninja-focused action.

I have these dreams of world travel and mountaineering. It’s time to dream big. It’s time to take imperfect action. It’s time to be ninja-focused!
