Death of My Macbook Pro

MacBookPro-1It was a day that was a long time coming. On New Year’s Eve, my laptop of many years died. Poor MacBook Pro. Poor files that I just lost. It’s kind of funny though- I finally decided to do a comprehensive backup of my system via Time Machine on the same day. I organized all of my files, set up automatic Time Machine backups, and then left it for the night. When I checked it on New Year’s Day, there was a brief moment of life, and then it was dead :(. And the Time Machine backup never worked. Woe is me.

But there’s a silver lining in all of this. I now have a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display! Apparently, this is a fancy piece of equipment that can help me fulfill all of my advanced, computer-y processing needs, like checking my e-mail, viewing my calendar, watching YouTube videos and writing in my blog. It’ll do.

What’s the lesson of the day? Don’t leave an open water bottle in the same bag as your computer, because once you spill it all over the MagSafe connector and motherboard of a MacBook, it’s all down hill from there…
