I’m going to take another detour and write about two Saturdays ago. I finally went white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River near Golden, BC. I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, so when I found out a friend was organizing a rafting trip through Canadian Rockies Rafting and they had space for me, I was totally there! (Thanks Rachna!… and thanks for the photos :D)
After a brief safety and expectations introduction, we were on the river, crashing into big waves, navigating through long rapids, and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
There were a few additional adventures: someone falling out of the boat; losing a paddle; getting stuck on rocks; almost flipping the raft as it was being filled by raging water; the shock of how freezing the water was after jumping in voluntarily; and a runaway shoe. I have done rafting before in Quebec and Costa Rica, but I have never done rafting in water this cold. It was ridiculously cold!
All in all, it was a fantastic way to spend the day. The weather was amazing and the company of friends was great as always. It truly makes Team Awesome that much more awesome!

Sweet! As soon as I’m fully healed, I have to play catch up, cuz you’re kicking my ass in the game of adventure. Jerk.

Adventuring is not a competition… but if it were, I’d be winning! HA, j/k. Hurry up and heal… there’s a caving adventure waiting.
