A Fun-Filled Weekend in Montreal

As I mentioned, I was in Montreal for an investigator / analyst meeting for the new pharmacoepidemiology study that I am starting. Fun! Once the meeting was finished on Friday afternoon, it was time for a fun weekend in Montreal, w00t!

My friend Dan was planning on being in Montreal around that time as well…. and he ended up booking his flight for the Friday evening so we could meet up! It was quite a draining week for both of us, so we were looking forward to unwinding a bit. Shenanigans ensued, as usual… dinner and drinks, followed by more drinks at a karaoke bar, all filled with the expected chatting, jokes and hilarity. What a great night!

The rest of the weekend was pretty awesome too. The following was reiterated in my mind:

  • I love Montreal!
  • There are some good looking, fashionable people in that city ๐Ÿ™‚
  • The McGill campus has always had a certain appeal…
  • Mount Royal makes for a nice walk during a sunny day
  • Old Montreal and the port are great for a nice walk at night

Alas, I still didn’t get to try a poutine or a Montreal smoked meat sandwich while I was there :S. There’s always next time I suppose. And with this new project, there may just be a next time… :D.

There's just something about the McGill campus that I love...

Hmm... maybe it's just meant to be.

  1. My parents are both from Montreal and so we used to go there every summer when I was little. And Montreal smoked meat sandwiches from Schwartz’s was a must every time we went. That and Spruce Beer. Mmm, smoked meat sandwiches and Spruce Beer.Clearly, we must go to Montreal together so I can ensure that smoked meat sandwiches and poutine are consumed!

  2. I’ve been wanting to make a trip to Montreal for a long time (despite living this much closer to it than I ever have oy!) and I think you and your great photos have lit the fire under me to finally go!I love the picture of you at the top — the lighting, your expression – great shot!
